"Mine to Tell" began as a title only, an inspiration that came to me late one night. The content followed soon afterward, the idea of a woman ensnared by others' opinions, her redemption and life taking form the moment my fingers hit the computer's keys. Like other novels, "Mine to Tell" told itself. It unfolded easily and naturally, its characters taking over. Did I know it would end the way it did? Not really. One character in particular shoved my ideas aside and replaced them with some of their own, bringing the story full circle to surprise all of us in the end.

Growing up with a mother who was adopted in early 1900's her story of the shame she felt was very much like this family. Even though as a child, I never felt the shame, I knew she did to the day she died at the age of 93. Good o l d Midwest values.
